$150k Campaign Launch
Campaign Update: Launching Our $150,000 Hygiene Campaign
Hello Bushwick! I’m Erin, founder of The Bushwick Trash Lady. This is our very first blog post, and I’m excited to share the journey with you. Over the next few months, we’ll be working toward our goal of raising $150,000 to bring cleaner streets, free trash bags for households in need, and new services that address the sanitation challenges we face.
Our updated first initiatives include:
100 new dog-waste bag stations across Bushwick. To make this possible, we’re working closely with the City of New York to obtain the right permits and secure partnerships that allow stations to be installed in public and high-traffic areas.
Adopting “No Man’s Lands” (vacant and neglected properties) to keep them clean, safe, and free of illegal dumping.
Weekly community cleanups in rotating blocks, building pride and accountability one corner at a time.
Planning our first big event: a Community Cleanup at Maria Hernandez Park on November 1st.
This campaign is about more than cleaning up—it’s about building community and restoring dignity to the streets we all share.
